I’ve became resistant to the “call to action” and sale closes by Day 3. I am now selective of which speaker I choose to blog about as some display characteristics that I don’t necessarily like.

Speaker: Brett Mcfall (The co-founder of WIS and Australia’s top copywriter)

Summary:

Find the one thing that makes you king (your USP – what makes you/your product/service different from others and be specific). Have a strong promise that takes you from NO to YES.

Create Massive curiosity – Deliver Massive Content – Get Massive Conversion

Key: Not necessarily selling products but building a database in which you can monetise later on by giving something away for free on the capture page

Passive income: if you’re smart, you would sell a clickbank product which are membership based sites for re-occurring revenue

If you create a product such as an ebook: sell ‘resale rights’ to your book or ‘master rights’ which means you can sell the ‘resale rights’ and ‘master rights’

Brett’s Plan for online Automation:

Choose a Product from an affiliate ie. Clickbank

Find articles relating to the product – go to ezinearticles.com

Create your website – use worldinternetbuilder.com

Create a squeeze page – offer a gift in return for your visitor’s name & email eg. 1st chapter + video free if its an ebook

Start sending traffic using PPC advertising to squeeze page

For database management and autoresponder use worldinternetoffice.com

Send emails via autoresponder, 2 x a week on quality information from ezinearticles.com

Once a week send them an offer for a product you found on clickbank

Offer all related products until you have nothing left to sell

Speaker: James Schramko

A Sydney based internet marketer who quit his highly paid job in mid 2008 to live the internet marketer lifestyle. James comes across as your everyday bloke who has mastered the core principles of internet marketing which allows one to create their own online business system.

Key takeaways:

You need a coach and mentor to guide you through the crap that is available online

James looks for problems or people’s concerns and create products for it

Be cognisant of your time and aim to automate processes

Run your online marketing like a business

Sell what people want to buy: research your market, gather your keywords, create surveys if you’re not sure, go buy magazines and look at what’s selling (half the work is done for you) or go to the bookshop and wee what is selling & what people are BUYING

Success formula: provide valuable content or solutions to desperate buyers with problems you can solve in the largest market you can easily access

Audio Traffic: when someone downloads your podcast, it loads straight to their itunes and uploads to their ipod which embeds the website on it

Video: tubemogul.com, youtube

Submit articles: www.autoarticlesubmit.com, www.autoarticlemarketing.com – submit articles and point them back to your site

List building: Offer something for FREE on squeeze page, build the relationship, sell & sell again

Get the money: Link somewhere that gets money ie ebay store, have a back end product to sell and recurring revenue through membership site

Thankyou page: At the point of sale, upsell while people have just purchased your product

Joint Ventures: promote someone first and when you have stuff ready to sell – they will sell yours

PPC: The Google content network is BIG. The key is to have an exact match be specific and laser target for your niche

License to others who pay a fee to use your systems

Use video testimonials

Track & test everything

YOU NEED:

A website/Blog: don’t build it on a third party system, have your own domain and host it yourself. Use wordpress for a blog.

Content: Create it or outsource to someone to do the work for you. It can be in the form of pdfs, images, sounds (podcast), videos (youtube – you really need to do videos)

An iphone: yes… an iphone. The iphone allows you to create videos, record interviews, access gmail, twitter, facebook, linked – while you are on the GO

For those who do know me, I was a Sydney based ex-investment advisor of a global wealth management firm and was a victim of the Global Financial Crisis (I see the whole incident as a blessing in hindsight as its allowed me to pursue marketing online and day trade).
Now…. I’ve been relatively quiet on the trading front for the past couple of months but its time to begin… again… I’ll aim to give you a quick wrap on the markets and the trades I entered for the day.

My trading style: If I’m trading stocks I’m looking for a quick profit, usually in and out of a stock before the market closes at 4pm. Sometimes I will trade options to gain leverage with minimal outlay and have more of a short term view on the direction of the stock.

Diary Wrap: The Aussie market was up 1% today on the back of commodities & oil rallying overnight and broker upgrades coming through thick and fast for the big 4 banks. What I’m seeing is investors fearful that they have missed the boat and piling money back into the market (this is inflating the market for the wrong reasons). So I’m a contrarian and this is what I’ve done:

1. Bought 3 BHP contracts in $31 Sept Puts @ 24c = Cost $720 (not including brokerage)

2. 5 BHP call spread: Sell the $43 Sept Put at 65c & bought the $44 Sept Call @ 46c = Net credit of $950 (not including brokerage).

I am hoping a down night so I make a quick profit tommorrow!

If you’re interested, I’ll start blogging on the basics of trading stocks and options later down the track but for now you can help me monitor this position.

Speaker: Shaune Clarke

Shaune is a Canadian currently residing in Maroochydore (Queensland, Australia) and known as a copywriter in the internet marketing industry (fact: clients were paying him more than John Carlton!). He has a program called: The Secret Six and The Power of Intimate Interviews. An entertaining guy who made his name when he interviewed Brian Keith Voiles and uncovered his secret in the most profitable piece in copy.

Key takeaways:

Leverage: Shaune’s copywriting program is unique in that it leverages one’s time and skills through the use of interviews. I believe the audience didn’t fully comprehend the big picture that was presented to them. Combined with his email sequences to reach your ideal prospect and through the use of intimate interviews, you get a cross pollination of benefits through your business: copy writing content, the power of persuasion, relationship building and sales.

The presenter: I would assume Shaune incorporating his talk-show host presenter skills into this program thus having a personal development element will benefit one’s presentation skills and result in self development.

Joint Ventures: Once you have built the relationship and known your prospects fears and desires, you can guide them into a solution by doing a joint venture. By JV’ing with a company that has a database and unlimited potential, you have just received a free database of clients and banking future profits.

Look beyond the concept of copywriting, my instincts tell me that this program has more to offer…

Speaker: Simon Leung

Simon is known across the Internet Marketing industry as the Google Optimization Insider and Master AdWords Optimizer. Back in 2002 when very few people have even heard about Google.com, Simon became one of the very first individuals to join the Google AdWords team and went on to become the he had become the go-to person on the team with optimization quality and strategy questions. Apologies on the abbreviated notes but contact me on bizattraction@gmail.com if you want me to clarify :

Simplistic model: find the product and divert traffic to the landing page & then duplicate

Step 1: Find the product and get paid through affiliate programs once a sale is made: ie promote someone else’s product through clickbank.com, linkshare.com, affiliate.com

Step 2: Get traffic organically. Article/PR submissions (work but the problem its too time consuming), SEO (requires time and education), forums/communities (also time consuming) & banner ads (works but not targeted enough) & JV Partners (lengthy process)

The quickest way is paying for traffic through Googleadwords.

Secret 1: create an online presence on the internet through the use of pictures and videos. Register your name as a domain and join Google profiles (Google loves nothing more than itself – this will help increase your ranking), be truthful and provide as much information about yourself as you like

Secret 2: Blog you way to your own personal branding. The key is blogging persistently and being recognised as an expert in your industry.

Secret 3: Tweeting. Develop massive exposure using micro-blogs such as Twitter and add to the visual design with photos and videos to create that online presence so people know who you are

Secret 4: Jaiku.com – build social networks from accounts around the world through micro-blogs with photos and videos.

Secret 5: Gain tonnes of raving fans through online videos. Create viral videos to your niche and make it funny which will drive traffic to your main site – use Google videos.

Secret 6: Make your favourite Photo experience famous ( photos should be on the top right hand corner)

Secret 7: Share content online and be recognised as an expert. Post to places such as Squidoo, Knol (intergrate and embed videos and images)

Secret 8: Bookmark your favourite sites for higher ranking (DIGG, Google.com/Bookmarks etc)

Secret 9: Encourage a community of loyal followers ie My Bloglog.com is designed just for blogging and Google Friend Connect (a widget to add on the side of your blog)

SUMMARY: Have a good website + backlinks + social media = HIGH traffic.

Speaker: Mark Ling

Mark specialises in several niches for his online business, mainly in the “How to” products/services arena

Start with the right mindset: flood your mind with information from people you want to be (he is currently friends with over 60 internet millionaires). There is no such thing as failure, each failure brings you closer to success…. take daily action

How to find niches: Search on clickbank and look at the product’s gravity. As a benchmark, aim to promote products with a gravity greater than 22, you want a gravity as high as 30 as there will be money in this product. Secondly search on amazon.com and look for star reviews and feedback, the higher the number of reviews, the better they sell

Find profitable keywords: Use forums and find the problems people are experiencing and use them as keywords. Keywords can be product names, author names,” crisis”/”desperate”/”help” or “how to”, “learn”, “lessons”, “tips” keyword with associated phrases.

Article marketing: use ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com, submit to Amautomation.com for backlinks to yhour site

List building: by having a list you can make repeat sales and it helps to do joint ventures for product launches/promotions or perhaps launch your product

Generate leads with squeeze pages: also known as a capture/landing page, offer a free report/audio/video + opt in link in exchange for name & email (or phone number)

Drive traffic to your squeze page: Using PPC advertising, SEO, ezine advertising, recommend a friend for a free product, being interviewed by others who have a list for traffic leverage, create resale rights to gain viral exposure, signature with links to webpage, JV cross promotions with internet marketers.

There are 2 more speakers from Day 2 that I’ve yet to blog so…. watch out for my post on Shaune Clarke and Simon Leung tommorrow.

The summit was literally held in ‘the sticks’, there were only one Indian restaurant and a convenience store nearby. I was starving by the time I arrived in Auckland and ended up eating a weird concoction of Indian and Chinese stir-fry – never again shall I eat there. I resorted to going back to the Centra Hotel (where the summit was held) and order room service. There were over 300 attendees on Day 1, people from all walks of life. Some had their own business, some were looking for a change and others were there to simply network.

Some motivation talk from Tom Hua:

Always have a plan B: what would you do if you lost your job or your business failed?

Have the right mindset: Have BELIEF in yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to

Have a dream: set goals and objectives ie an online business that generates passive income

Never miss an opportunity, keep your mind alert and network

Take massive action immediately

Do your best and don’t be afraid of investing money, time and effort

Never give up (it must have been Tom Hua’s favourite line)

Have more dreams….

Share your idea: the internet is big enough for everyone and is designed for information exchange to connect people

Brett Mcfall:

Brett’s background is in copywriting. He made it on the internet by starting a monthly newsletter on marketing and advertising. He later combined his newsletter into a book called ‘Insider secrets of advertising’ and over the course of 2 years generated over $400,000. He now has his own internet marketing program called “warpies” and his latest book is “make money while you sleep”.

7 secrets to a profitable online business:

Find a hot niche (provide the solutions to people’s problems)

Create a product on what the market wants (research, surveys)

Create a powerful compelling sales message (ie a sales letter)

Design a website that converts prospects into buyers (copywriting)

Generate traffic to your website (PPC, social media etc)

Use email to turn even more people into customers (email marketing)

Have an army of people sell your product for you (aka affiliates)

Obviously there are intricate details required in each step however I’ll leave it to you to google/youtube this. Hint: For starters, you can go to youtube and type in “How to find a hot niche”.
